New and returning families in Northside Independent School District are on a deadline if they want a guaranteed school bus seat next year.
NISD is telling parents to pre-register any student who will need district bus service for the 2026–27 school year by June 30. The district warns that bus stops will not be created automatically and that families who miss the cutoff may be waiting one to two weeks after school begins before a stop is assigned.
That is a big shift from the previous setup, when the district routinely created bus stops automatically for students who lived more than two miles from their assigned campus.
