Spring man sentenced after pleading guilty to trying to kidnap ex-girlfriend from Spring ISD bus

A 20-year-old accused of boarding a Spring ISD school bus and trying to kidnap his ex-girlfriend late last year has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty on Wednesday.

David Romeo Madison, of Spring, had been charged with attempting to commit aggravated kidnapping and making a terroristic threat. A third charge of aggravated assault against a public servant was dismissed in January.

Madison used an SUV on Dec. 15 to stop the bus, which was heading to Spring High School with his ex-girlfriend aboard. He threatened the bus driver with what authorities believed was a gun and boarded the bus as students took cover and fled through the emergency exit.
