HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good morning and happy Friday. Areas of patchy but dense fog have developed overnight, especially in locations that saw heavy rainfall yesterday and near bodies of water.
Morning temperatures are warm around 70 degrees with a muggy feel. Umbrellas will be a good thing to have as light scattered showers are going to develop as early as mid-morning and continue through most of the day. High temperatures today warm to about 80 degrees under overcast skies. Scattered to numerous downpours and thunderstorms are looking likely through the afternoon and evening timeframe. Some storms today can produce torrential rainfall, frequent lightning and brief gusty winds.
Additional showers and some occasional thunder are expected overnight with morning lows in the upper 60s Saturday. Just like last weekend, more periods of rain and storms are expected both Saturday and Sunday. Although this will not be a start to finish washout weekend, anticipate some delays or interruptions to any outside weekend plans.
