LAKELAND, Fla. – A death investigation is underway in Polk County after human bones were discovered in a wooded area on Thursday evening.
Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene near the intersection of Fish Hatchery Road and Morgan Combee Road, just outside of Lakeland, at approximately 7:47 p.m. on May 28, 2026.
According to officials, the investigation into the discovery remains active. Representatives from the sheriff’s office stated that they will likely release more details regarding the case later today…
