EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Islamic celebration Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is now underway. It’s one of the religion’s most important holidays, bringing thousands to local mosques.
Thousands of worshippers gathered Wednesday at the Eastern Athletic Field in Lansing to celebrate Eid al-Adha, but during the event, attendees tell 6 News that protesters tried to interrupt them and yelled obscenities during prayer.
Yoceph Verevko, a devout Muslim, was one of the thousands of worshippers attending prayer during Eid.
