Kenner crimes against children investigation results in 12 arrests

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — An Internet Crimes Against Children enforcement operation in Kenner resulted in 12 arrests and 35 criminal charges within the month of May.

According to the Kenner Police Department, the criminal charges included computer aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and indecent behavior. People arrested or wanted during the operation ranged in age from 22 to 55.

Officials said the unit focused on identifying online predators utilizing social media platforms, gaming platforms, dating apps and other online services to exploit children through grooming, solicitation and the distribution of child sexual abuse material.

The following individuals were charged:

  • 39-year-old Dominic J. Thompson of Houston, Texas
  • 42-year-old Cody L. Ritchey Sr. of Houma
  • 43-year-old John Christopher King of Canton, Ohio
  • 44-year-old David J. Berniard Jr. of Prairieville
  • 28-year-old Steve Brown of New Orleans
  • 55-year-old Michael Read Kamm of Michigan
  • 22-year-old Connor James Westbrook of Belle Chasse
  • 22-year-old Tristan Phillip Ory of Prairieville
  • 42-year-old Ryan Montero of Metairie
  • 34-year-old Dontrell Anthony Watts of Donaldsonville
  • 31-year-old Dylan Paul Huguet of Washington, Louisiana
