Powerful storm downs trees, causing damage around the Inland Northwest

Spokane, WASH. — City and county crews are busy today assessing all the damage created by last night’s severe storm.

One man in the Emerson-Garfield neighborhood had his car destroyed by a tree that was toppled during the storm. He recently bought the car and says he didn’t have insurance on the car, so he’s left searching for what to do next.

A few neighbors living just off Indian Trial Road say a lightning strike caused appliances and Wi-Fi to stop working. People say it sounded like a bomb went off in front of the house and it reverberated through the house. One house had a broken window…
