BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield police clarify on investigations into recent deaths, with one having no signs of trauma, one death with no suspicious circumstances, and only one death currently being investigated as a suspicious death while having no obvious signs of trauma.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Wednesday, May 20, at around 9 a.m., officers were called to South King and Watkins Streets, where a body was found in the alleyway. Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma observed at the scene. According to BPD, currently, the Robbery/Homicide Division is investigating the case as a suspicious death. The investigation remains ongoing.
Meanwhile, police said they were called to the Silver Creek park area on the same day, May 20, and found a man, estimated to be in his 60’s, in his car. Police said the initial report from the coroner is that the man died of natural causes; there was no trauma. BPD said they are not investigating further.
