LIHEAP Cuts Cooling Costs for Low Income Families

CRISP COUNTY, Ga. – The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides federally funded grants to help income-eligible households pay for primary heating and cooling costs. Benefit amounts range from $350 to $810 depending on household size, gross income, and heating source.

LIHEAP provides income-eligible households an annual financial benefit toward their home heating costs through direct payments to home energy suppliers.

Households in which every member is age 65 or older or homebound are given priority and can apply starting in December each year. If funds remain, other income eligible households can apply beginning in January each year…
