MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Montgomery Fire/Rescue crews responded to a structure fire Friday morning in the 3500 block of McGhee Place Drive South, according to officials.
Firefighters with Engine 9 arrived to find smoke coming from a second-floor apartment and declared a working fire. Engine 9 and Truck 45 began an interior fire attack, while Engine 3 checked adjacent apartments to make sure the flames had not spread.
Crews reported residual smoke in upper units and attic spaces, but said no fire extension was found. Truck 45 also conducted primary and secondary searches of the building, with negative results…
