Pensacola PD arrests driver on manslaughter charge after woman’s unborn child dies in crash

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – A 23-year-old man was arrested by Pensacola police and charged with manslaughter after a car crash injured a pregnant woman whose unborn child died.

Pensacola Police Traffic Homicide investigators charged Nickolas Bolton with negligent manslaughter and reckless driving in a crash that occurred on March 18 at the intersection of 9th Avenue and Bayou Boulevard.

Police said Bolton was driving a pickup truck southbound on 9th Avenue at high speed and ran a red light at Bayou Boulevard, causing a collision with a car driven by a pregnant woman. The woman received non-life-threatening injuries, but her unborn child did not survive the crash, officials said…
