SHREWSBURY – Route 140 is set to get a little easier on your car’s tires.
On May 12, Town Manager Kevin Mizikar announced that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) would be repaving a portion of Route 140 from Main Street to Wachusett Avenue. Repaving the 1.5-mile stretch will cost $900,000.
“It’s an extraordinary opportunity,” said Mizikar. “The state will be investing $950,000 into that roadway. It’s a state-numbered roadway, but it’s town-maintained. It’s something they don’t have to do, but our partnership and relationship with MassDOT got this project on their radar.”…
