LUBBOCK, Texas — Shots were fired at a suspect who attempted to carjack a woman at the Lubbock County Courthouse on Friday morning, according to the Lubbock Police Department. Police said the suspect, identified as Isaiah Houston, 26, had moderate injuries.

Around 10:30 a.m., a photojournalist with EverythingLubbock.com was at the Lubbock County Courthouse at Broadway Street and Texas Avenue when he saw a man run around the east side of the building, with law enforcement chasing behind.
LPD said an off-duty officer was at the courthouse for a trial and saw Houston in an altercation with a woman with a child. According to LPD, Houston was armed with a knife and attempting to carjack the woman. As the officer approached, police said Houston ran away.
