What do you get when you combine a historic national birthday with a party showcasing Arkansas food, crafts, culture and fun — and make it free, to boot? The answer is a brand-new event, Arkansas Folklife Festival, coming to Riverfront Park on the north side of the Arkansas River.
“I knew from the very beginning I wanted to do it in central Arkansas for several reasons,” said Rachel Reynolds, executive director, who came up with the festival. “The Arkansas River is that great connector, right? There’s things that bring folks together, and those are music, food and water, so the Arkansas River is a big part of our story and the American story.”
The event is a three-day blowout of national and local performers, great food, artwork and craft vendors, all of which, in some way, have a connection to and celebrate the unique culture of the Natural State. AY Media Group is proud to be presenting media sponsor for the festival…
