SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Parents appealing the closing of Christ the King School received news that the Vatican denied their appeal to challenge the decision made by the O’Gorman School Board and Diocese.
In a message shared with school and parish families, appeal hopefuls say a 148-page appeal was submitted to the Vatican, highlighting what parents say were oversights in the decision-making process. Included in the packet were testimonies submitted to O’Gorman during the initial appeal process.
“The time to move forward is now. Please take the best of what you learned and experienced at Christ the King Elementary and carry it forward, wherever your children or grandchildren attend school this Fall,” the statement said. “No words can fully ease the sadness, anger, and frustration we all feel. Remember that feelings are something you have, not who you are.”…
