Carmen-Smith recreation sites open on Upper McKenzie River after nine-year closure

BELKNAP SPRINGS, Ore. — After nine years of closure, Carmen-Smith recreation sites on the Upper McKenzie River have reopened to the public, offering campers, hikers, and day visitors access to newly renovated facilities, Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) said.

The USDA Forest Service and Linn County Parks officially re-opened the sites for public use earlier in May.
