Honolulu celebrates Pride Month in June

In recognition of Pride Month, the Pride Flag will fly outside the Mission Memorial Auditorium throughout the month of June, Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi announced on Friday.

According to a news release, the raising of the flag reflects the City and County of Honolulu’s continuing commitment to foster a community rooted in dignity, inclusion, respect and aloha for all people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, age, nationality or background.

The rainbow colors of the Pride Flag will also illuminate Honolulu Hale and the Neal S. Blaisdell Center from sundown on Monday through sunrise on Friday, June 5, as directed by the mayor…
