Lane shortens as slope stabilization work continues near Waimea Bay

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The barriers along the slope will be removed and the contraflowed single lane will be shortened to 300 feet, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said on Friday, May 29.

Residents in the Waimea Bay area should prepare for traffic as slope stabilization work continues along Kamehameha Highway.

HDOT announced the final delivery of netting is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, which will fully close Kamehameha Highway from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
