I’m once again visiting the wonderful community of Edinboro. I’ve been told that Hobbs Lumber and Hardware is celebrating its 80th birthday. I want to learn about the history of this business and find out how important this store has been to the people of Edinboro and the surrounding area.
What better people to teach me about those things than former owner Skeeter Hobbs and current owner Andy Olson? Skeeter tells me that his grandfather, Forrest Hobbs, came to Edinboro from West Virginia in 1946, and purchased land that housed an old mill on Route 99 South.
