An Oxford man was arrested for driving with a suspended license after being stopped with illegally dark window tint.
A deputy stopped 23-year-old Trey Anthony Shell on County Road 466 in Oxford around 10:55 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The tint on his blue 2017 Hyundai Sonata appeared to be darker than the legal limit.
Using a tint meter on the front driver’s side window confirmed it was indeed too dark. The deputy then asked Shell for his driver’s license, which he did not have because it had been suspended, the report said.
A check of his driving history revealed his license had been revoked on Jan. 16, 2025, and he had eight active suspensions. His criminal history included three guilty convictions for driving with a suspended license.
