Bridgeport Motorsports Park remains open and continues to host weekly racing events, but a recent approval could eventually transform the property into a large-scale Copart vehicle storage facility capable of accommodating approximately 4,467 vehicles.
To be clear, Bridgeport Motorsports Park is still operating and races fill the 2026 schedule. I have been in contact with the property’s owner, who was unable to comment on the project at this time.
While a major approval for the Copart facility was granted last month, that does not necessarily mean the project is a completed deal but the intent is there. In developments such as this, real estate transactions often include contingencies tied to zoning and site plan approvals, followed by financial and contractual milestones that must be satisfied before a sale can close.
Based on the information available, it appears all of those final steps have not yet fully completed. For now, it’s still “gentlemen, start your engines” at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.
