WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It’s a muggy start to the day with a few lingering showers and storms across central Kansas. Skies will become partly to mostly sunny later today with highs in the 80s for central Kansas and a few 90s to the west. Winds will be gusty from the southeast.
After 4 PM, a few storms will develop in parts of southwest and south central Kansas. These storms could quickly become severe, producing ping pong sized hail, wind gusts up to 65 MPH, locally heavy rainfall, and lightning. If storms remain isolated, larger hail up to tennis ball size is possible. Storms will continue through much of the evening and will move out of the area by midnight.
Sunday will be dry and mostly sunny across the state, with hotter temperatures in the 90s. The dry weather won’t last as storms return to the state Monday evening and Tuesday, mainly across western Kansas…
