May 29—SIOUX FALLS — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket’s Liz Boschee left no doubt atop the Class B girls javelin standings at the South Dakota state track and field championships on Friday at Howard Wood Field.
The Blackhawk senior uncorked an all-time South Dakota high school record throw of 147 feet, 7 inches, to capture the Class B title, finishing nearly 18 feet ahead of the competition and cementing her place as the state No. 1 javelin thrower.
The winning mark shattered the previous state record, which was 141-9, set on May 21 by Harrisburg’s Autumn Bryant, who throws on Saturday in the Class AA javelin competition.
