Texas DPS reports one dead after wreck on US 60 Friday

LIPSCOMB COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that a wreck on US 60 southwest of Higgins resulted in the death of an Oklahoma woman.

According to DPS, at around 5:30 p.m. on May 29, Cameron Kaylyn Hammons, 25, was traveling northeast on US 60 in a 1999 GMC Sierra before losing control of the pickup due to “a suspected mechanical failure.”

DPS stated that the pickup entered a skid, traveled off the roadway into the ditch, and rolled over multiple times. Officials detailed that Hammons was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck and was ejected from the vehicle…
