St. Lucie County Approves Window Manufacturing Plant With 1,000 Jobs

St. Lucie County has approved a 1.4-million-square-foot window and glass manufacturing plant that could bring more than 1,000 jobs to the region. The St. Lucie County Commission voted unanimously in favor of the project on May 23, 2026.

A Major Manufacturing Investment for the Treasure Coast

The facility represents a total investment of roughly $170 million in construction plus $140 million for equipment. Developers plan to build the plant in multiple phases. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate about $53 million in annual payroll for workers in the area.

The project required a rezoning to industrial heavy. That change was needed to accommodate the building’s height requirements. Commissioners reviewed the rezoning request along with the development approval before casting their votes.

The approval adds to ongoing efforts in St. Lucie County to attract large employers and expand the local industrial base. County officials have identified job creation and workforce retention as key economic priorities in recent years.
