, N.M. — Nine-year-old Hunter Rael and his parents returned to their home on Saturday, escorted by multiple motorcyclists and New Mexico’s Valencia County Sheriff’s Office after a long, life-threatening medical journey that was a picture-perfect happy ending.

Even better, it signaled a new beginning for Hunter and his family, filled with hopes, dreams and good health.

Hunter and his parents were escorted to their home in a tribute that came soon after the Albuquerque Youth Orchestra’s musical interpretation of Hunter’s account of his second heart transplant — the first one was not successful — and then dancing at an outdoor concert in Albuquerque while country superstar Jelly Roll dedicated a song to him…
