It was a dry day filled with sunshine and blue skies for the Land of Enchantment. Today’s high temperatures were seasonable in Albuquerque reaching the lows 80s. The rest of the state experienced temperatures that ranged from the 70s to the 90s. Saturday was also a breezy day for some locations in northeast New Mexico. Peak wind gusts ranged from 30- 40 mph in that secction of the state. Tonight, calmer winds are expected through tomorrow morning. Low temperatures will fall into the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s to start the new week on a seasonable and chilly note. Tomorrow’s forecast has dry conditions for most and even warmer temperatures. Forecasted highs will reach the 70s, 80s, 90s and possibly triple digits for Carlsbad. A few showers and storms are possible in Eddy and Lea County for tomorrow evening. Aside from that, this brief warming trend is expected to peak on Monday as moisture develops in New Mexico.
This incoming moisture will bring showers and storm chances back into the forecast for eastern New Mexico and the Sacramento Mountains on Monday. Moisture will be drawn up from the south on Tuesday in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere contributing to isolated showers and storms. Dry conditions will persist at the surface in western New Mexico leading to dry showers and storms in the west. Wet weather will stick around throughout the week for New Mexico. Scattered to widespread shower and storms are forecasted for Tuesday- Thursday. Rain chances may extend all the way to the weekend. Rainfall accumulations are expected to be higher in eastern New Mexico compared to the west. Right now, locations in eastern New Mexico could see an inch of rainfall or more throughout this week…
