“My wife, Michelle, and I run the business and work a lot of hours,” says owner Frank Petrilli, who moved from Connecticut to Spokane in 1992 to join his brother in operating Nick’s Custom Boots. Originally his brother wanted only silent partners, but the fast growth of the business necessitated another Petrilli on-site. So Frank and Michelle left New England behind and moved to the Inland Northwest. The family sold Nick’s Custom Boots in 2013; Petrilli worked for the new owner for two-and-a-half years and then opened Frank’s Boots in 2016.
