Bob’s Bakery Opens Inside Tonica Downtown Memphis

Downtown workers and visitors craving a quick slice are about to get a new option. Shari Haley, a longtime Tonica staffer, is turning the back corner of Tonica Downtown into Bob’s Bakery, a pie-focused counter geared toward office workers and tourists on the move. The shop will fill the former Backlot Sandwich Shop space and is aiming for a mid-June opening with grab-and-go treats ready at the counter. With an entrance that fronts Dr. ML King Jr Avenue, Bob’s is set to serve quick slices, pastries, and weekend quiches to anyone ducking in from the street.

Haley founded Bob’s Bakery and plans to keep the menu centered on sweet and savory pies, while also stocking pastries, brownies, cookies, and mini pound cakes, with weekend sweet rolls and quiches in the mix, according to the Daily Memphian. The bakery will sit inside Tonica Downtown and will be accessible directly from Dr. ML King Jr Avenue.

Bob’s will operate out of Tonica Downtown at 265 S Front St in the South Main district. Tonica lists that address for its downtown outpost, which opened as the restaurant expanded into Front Street’s retail corridor.
