Elkton duplex fire displaces six adults, causes $250,000 damage

ELKTON, Md. (WBFF) — An early-morning fire at a single-story duplex in Elkton displaced six adults and caused an estimated $250,000 in damages, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire was reported at 9:15 a.m. on May 31 at 231 Hollingsworth Manor in Cecil County. Investigators said the fire was discovered by a resident after he heard a popping sound coming from a rear bedroom.
