Just before 8:00am Sunday, the Plainfield Fire Protection District was dispatched by the Western Will County Communication Center (WESCOM) to a reported residential structure fire in the 10 block of Andy Court in unincorporated Plainfield.
Upon arrival, the first responding units encountered fire conditions at the rear of the residence, with flames extending into the attic space. Fire crews quickly initiated suppression operations to contain and extinguish the fire.
The sole occupant of the home had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. The individual was evaluated and treated on scene for smoke inhalation but declined transport to a hospital. No firefighter injuries were reported…
