LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI (WOWO) A suspect has been arrested after Michigan State Police say a man attempted to abduct an 8-year-old girl in Livingston County’s Brighton Township.

According to Michigan State Police, troopers from the Brighton Post responded around 7:00 p.m. Thursday to the area of Rosemary Lane after receiving reports of an attempted child abduction.

Child approached while riding bicycle

Investigators say the incident began when the 8-year-old girl was riding her bicycle near her neighborhood when she was approached by a man who appeared to be going door to door as a traveling salesman.

Police initially described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male wearing blue shorts, a black polo shirt, a light green ball cap, and an identification badge associated with a pest control company…
