Saline Graduates Urged to Carry Hope, Curiosity and Courage Forward

Saline High School’s class of 2026 was sent into its next chapter May 31 with a message to hold onto hope, stay curious and use its voice with care.

The commencement ceremony honored 374 graduates at Hornet Stadium, marking the school’s 158th graduating class. Families, friends, teachers, administrators and staff filled the stadium as students crossed the stage.

Principal Theresa Stager thanked families, educators, advisers, counselors, nurses, music staff, building and grounds crews and others who helped students reach graduation.

Stager said the class excelled in academics, athletics, arts, clubs and service. It included six National Merit finalists. Two hundred students graduated with a grade-point average of 3.6667 or higher, including 126 with a weighted GPA of 4.0 or above.

The graduates also received 83 local scholarships totaling more than $75,000. According to the district, 73% plan to attend four-year colleges or universities, while 16% plan to attend two-year educational programs. Others plan to enter skilled trades, the workforce or the military…
