Travel Forecast: June starts stormy for many

AUSTIN (KXAN) — June starts active for parts of the country, with rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms in the Plains in the next few days.

On Monday, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 2/5 Slight Risk for parts of Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming. Large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado are possible in the affected areas.

A level 1/5 Marginal Risk has been issued for several states in the Plains and Deep South.

On Tuesday, a level 2/5 Slight Risk has been issued for parts of the Northern Plains. Large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado are possible.

In addition to severe weather, general thunderstorms could create heavy rain and flash flooding. Multiple inches of rain are expected across parts of the country through next weekend.
