BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Delano police and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) arrested and cited one clerk on Friday, May 29, for allegedly selling alcohol to minors.
The incident happened during a Minor Decoy operation. In the operation, minors, under the supervision of law enforcement, attempted to buy alcohol from 16 businesses with liquor licenses in Delano.
Delano police said clerks who sell alcohol to minors face a minimum fine of $250 and 24 to 32 hours of community service for a first violation. Additionally, ABC may take “administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business where alcohol was sold to a minor,” according to a release.
