Clarksville man stole thousands from blind uncle

On May 27, after only one hour of deliberation, a Montgomery County Jury found Roman F. Jachim, age 51, guilty of stealing more than $60,000 from his uncle, Gary Jachim, 78, who is blind.

During a three-day jury trial, jurors were told Roman Jachim had used his position as power-of-attorney for his uncle to appropriate tens of thousands of dollars from the victim’s IRA via cash withdrawals without the victim’s permission, according to Robert Nash, the District Attorney General, 19th Judicial District.

The jury heard testimony from the victim and his life-long friend who helped him discover the theft. Clarksville police investigators and a civil attorney of the Clarksville Bar also testified…
