Your tax dollars are busing kids to private schools across Ohio, and it’s costing a fortune

School choice gives families options, letting them pick the best fit for their kids, on the backs of taxpayers, but one logistical reality rarely makes it into the conversation: The cost to taxpayers of busing all those kids to distant private schools.

Education reporter Laura Hancock examined work by a state work group studying Ohio’s school transportation crisis, but Today in Ohio podcast hosts say the state created the crisis by generously subsidizing private schools.
