A 14-year-old Santa Fe High School student was arrested Monday after making a comment about having a bomb in her backpack, prompting an investigation by school officials and law enforcement.

According to an Alachua Police Department (APD) release, the incident occurred around 9:15 a.m., when a guidance counselor stationed at the school’s front gate for morning duty overheard a student make the statement as the student entered campus.

Police said the student, identified as Amelia Tate-Wilson, told another student, “She doesn’t even know I have a bomb in my backpack” as they walked past the counselor. The counselor immediately reported the comment to school administration…
