Bid on 200+ delinquent properties in Knox County Tax Sale

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knox County Trustee’s Office plans to hold “Tax Sale 25” on Tuesday which will allow people to bid on more than 200 delinquent properties in the county.

The event is planned to be at the Grande Event Center with doors opening at 8 a.m. for registration and bidding beginning at 10 a.m.

“Tax sales are an important part of the delinquent tax collection process and help return properties to productive use while ensuring fairness to taxpayers,” said Trustee Justin Biggs.

If you are interested in bidding, you should arrive early to make sure you have time to register before the sale begins. Learn more on the county’s website. The county described tax sales as a last resort when owners don’t pay property taxes.

“Persons wishing to find investment properties, or perhaps purchase a home, may benefit from attending a tax sale auction,” the county said. “Anyone interested in tax sale properties should be aware that there are serious risks, restrictions and requirements involved in purchasing a property at a delinquent tax sale.”…
