As city of Lansing employees return to office, local businesses hope for economic boost

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Dozens of employees for the city of Lansing will have to return to work in person on July 1 after years of having the option to work remotely.

In an email sent to all departments, it was announced that remote work will no longer be available to employees.

6 News went to downtown Lansing to speak to local businesses about the change, and how it’ll positively impact them. Dozens of businesses told 6 News that on Mondays and Tuesdays, they barely see any customers. They believe the return of city employees will help boost the local economy.
