Iowa lost a 3-star recruiting battle to Big Ten rival Indiana before it even began

As official visit season heats up, the Hawkeyes have already suffered a minor blow to their 2027 recruiting class without even getting a chance to make a pitch.

Iowa’s 2027 class is still rounding into form, with a heavy focus on defense in the early stages of recruiting. With only 10 committed prospects, there is still some work to do, especially with a big weekend on the horizon.

The program is welcoming multiple talented prospects this weekend for its first big official visit weekend, and one prospect they were in the mix for has already decided. Unfortunately for the Hawkeyes, his decision didn’t go their way.
