CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Canyon Fire Department awarded 4-year-old Hutch Hubbard with a heroism award Monday morning after hearing how he saved his brother’s life over Memorial Day weekend.
That heroic act came as Hutch’s 2-year-old brother Jack got into the pool without a life vest, and Hutch jumped in after him.
Hutch, who already had his life vest on, held his brother up for air until an adult came and retrieved them both from the pool. The CFD said thanks to Hutch’s quick thinking, everyone was okay, and they added that even with all the precautions in place, things can happen quickly…
