WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says today will be just as hot and humid as Sunday, with highs in the lower 90s before a cold front sweeps across the state tonight. Showers and storms will start over western Kansas this afternoon, and then they will move east tonight into Tuesday morning. While widespread severe weather is unlikely, some storms will be strong with heavy rain, small hail, and gusty winds.
Expect slightly cooler temperatures in the lower to middle 80s, the remainder of the week to be accompanied by mainly dry conditions as well. A few showers and storms are possible over western Kansas on Wednesday, but most will stay dry and widespread severe weather is not expected.
Our next storm system is scheduled to arrive this weekend, though a few storms are possible across northern Kansas on Friday night. While showers, storms, and areas of heavy rainfall are a safe bet, the exact timing and strength remain uncertain…
