Opening statements: ‘Barrage of bullets,’ ‘forensic mess’

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Jurors heard opening statements Monday in the murder trial of Lamont Burks, Jr. The 29-year-old is accused of opening fire at a western Sioux Falls park in August 2024.

The prosecution describes what happened as a “barrage of bullets,” but the defense says the crime scene was a “forensic mess.”
