Mayor eyes demolition, redevelopment of Chinatown landmark

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A landmark that’s been part of Honolulu’s Chinatown for 50 years could soon be coming down.

Mayor Rick Blangiardi said discussions with Taiwanese officials are moving forward. While details are still being negotiated, he believes the future of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza involves demolition and redevelopment.
