Anderson County Commission District 8 candidate Elizabeth “Liz” Henry has suspended her campaign following a serious injury sustained during an accident while overseas.
Henry, a registered nurse, diabetes educator, and longtime Anderson County resident, said the decision to suspend her campaign was made after careful consideration. Henry, who lives in Oak Ridge, has returned to the United States and is now focused on treatment, rehabilitation, and healing in the months ahead, according to a news release.
“This was not an easy decision,” Henry said. “I care deeply about Anderson County and have been incredibly honored by the encouragement and support I have received throughout this campaign. Unfortunately, my recovery must be my full priority right now.”…
