1 killed in train crash in rural area southeast of Ypsilanti

AUGUSTA TWP., MI – One person was killed in an early morning train crash southeast of Ypsilanti in Washtenaw County.

A man of an unknown age died when the train struck him around 4:41 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, said Dave Music, Augusta Township fire chief.

The crash happened on the tracks between McKean and Bunton roads, and the train was not at an intersection at the time, Music said…
