‘We are besieged.’ Ann Arbor businesses concerned amid rising homelessness

ANN ARBOR, MI — As Ann Arbor grapples with rising homelessness and associated mental health challenges, downtown restaurant and store owners have been expressing growing concerns it’s impacting their businesses.

“The other day when I was at work, I was there for five hours and two of those hours we had no customers,” said Marcia Dorr, co-owner of the Elmo’s T-shirt and gift shop in Nickels Arcade.
