CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Eighteen people were arrested after guns and drugs were seized during a weekend operation in Charlotte’s Central Division.
The crackdown was the department’s fifth “Queen City Safe” operation of 2026 and took place on Friday, May 29, in Uptown and South End.
Police said its latest deployment resulted in a “measurable disruption” of criminal activity, where officers seized a dozen firearms and half a pound of drugs.
The operation reportedly included 238 traffic stops, resulting in 68 citations, 18 arrests, and the seizure of $1,230 in cash…
