CLEVELAND (WJW) — A sobriety checkpoint, where officials look for impaired drivers, is planned for somewhere in Cleveland this month, the Cleveland Division of Police said in a statement.
Authorities did not yet disclose the time or location, although that will be released soon, but did confirm the checkpoint was taking place Monday, June 15, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s help.

The Supreme Court upheld the use of sobriety checkpoints, which are funded by a federal grant, back in 1990. However, certain protocols must be followed, including announcing the checkpoint to the public beforehand.
